ILCASA would like to invite sailors of all ages to participate in this years season opening training clinic at Goolwa operating out of Coorong Quays. Young or old, experienced, advancing or beginner there's always something to learn. The ILCA class is a "class" for life and we support all.
If you are thinking of transitioning into the ILCA and don't have a boat- ILCASA have 4 boats available to hire out for the event. See below for hire opportunities.
The benifits of running the event on the Goolwa Lakes waters is of no suprise to SA sailors... Flat water, no long dolly hauls over soft sand and no spring tide shore breaks! This year we are operating out of Coorong Quays - just across the river- same stretch of water and access to facilities.
This coaching clinic is available to all all ILCASA members and we invite all members in all rig sizes. Given our rig size range and vaiance in sailor experience levels, ILCASA will support additional coaches to match safety and skill set coaching alignment.

Freshly back from Denmark and the ILCA4 Worlds we have Queensland import Simon Small. Simon Small is an accomplished Australian sailing coach, strategist, and ILCA champion based at the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly, Queensland. A World Champion sailor and Queensland Male Sailor of the Year 2024 , Simon combines elite racing experience with a direct, high-performance coaching style focused on boat speed, tactical decision-making, and athlete accountability. He works with youth, masters, and para-sailing athletes, helping sailors develop the technical precision, resilience, and racecourse strategy required to perform at their highest level.
NB: Simon will also be back in town 2 weeks after Spring Clinic to headline the ILCA Coaching team for the SA AS Youths at BSYC. So a great opportunity for the youth here to cement some spring clininc learnings.
Max Sturman to most doesnt need introduction. Max heralds from the waters of Port Lincoln in SA. A dedicated ILCA sailor and experienced campaingner and current coach to our local SA ILCA sailors. You've tried to beat him'on the race course... now you can get to learn from him!
